The Harry Potter film series was one of the largest film productions in UK history, spanning a decade of filming (2000-2010) and transforming Leavesden Studios into a permanent home for the franchise.

The floating candles in the Great Hall were real candles suspended by wires, but they had to be replaced with CGI after they kept burning through the wires and falling.
Over 588 sets were created at Leavesden Studios for the entire series.
The 'snow' used for winter scenes at Hogwarts was a mixture of paper and polymer that could be wetted and frozen to look authentic.
